My dad and I went to "cari makan" around Penang area. We went to eat 酸辣米粉,cendol. After that, we proceed our journey to Butterworth to meet his friend. Our next destination is Sundays Cafe. The pie is famous and delicious. We ordered Gourmet Chicken & Apple Pie and Shepherd's Pie. hmm, yummy yummy.

Penang Station One (欣怡&李宗盛)

Last Friday, my friend was asking me to go Penang Station One to see 李宗盛. We reached there about 6.30pm++, we saw quite number of people q-up. Luckily we managed to have place inside Station One after waiting for about 20mins. At the same time, 欣怡 was there promoting her new album. I grabbed my gear and took a few shots of her.

After my dinner roughly 8pm+, 歌坛大哥李宗盛 finally reached at Station One. Everyone was screaming. I had my opportunity to take his photo using my gear.

Day 4, after breakfast we go for photo shooting at the other side of Phi Phi Island. You can see the long tail boot, speed boat and kayaking boat. The beach is nice and the sea water is clear.

We checked out and back to Ao Nang town. Before the ferry is leaving, I climbed up to the ferry to snap panorama view.

We stayed at White Sand hotel once we reached Ao Nang town. The hotel is nearer compare with Amandari Hotel. It is located at same row with MCD and Subway.

Day 3 morning, after breakfast, we checked out and moving to Phi Phi Island. The journey time is approximate 1.5 hours. You can rest in the ferry boat or you can go the roof of the boot snap picture.

Reaching the Phi Phi Jetty, the sea water is crystal clear and you can see long tail taxi boats are docked parallel along the jetty. The weather there is hot. We quickly walk to the Phi Phi Hotel which is not far from the jetty.

We had our lunch at the hawker stall. We just order some normal food such as Kang-Kung, Kai-Lan and tomyam soup.

After lunch, we wait for 2pm as we planned go for snorkeling. We took the long tail taxi boat. The coral there is nice. We also drop by to Maya Bay and we rest for while then the tour guy brought us to see sunset.

Moving into 2nd day, we found a tour package that entitles us to visit Emerald Pool, Hot Stream, Elephant Ride and Tiger Cave Temple. Lunch and drinks are provided. Our first target is Emerald Pool. The journey to here from AoNang is about 45min and from the entrance to the pool is about 1Km by foot.

Reaching the pool, only one of our friend KS, swim at the pool. Haha...we all just take some photos. The naturally green colored by was pretty crowded wid ppl... which includes those bikini babes and hunks!

After the pool, we went to Klong Thom Safari. We rode on the elephant for jungle tracking. We took nearly an hour for the jungle explored.

Next station, we visited to the Tiger Cave. The tour guide brought us to see the big tree. We need climb the staircase to reach the destination. However, for this, we all can make it. There is another more challenging one which is 1237 steps staircase to reach top of mountain. I cannot make it as I only reach about 200 steps. I gave up….From the top of mountain, you can see the Krabi scene.

We travel to Krabi, Thailand on last weekend. Our group is small, just about 10 people. Actually we plan this trip since last year when Air-Asia has promotion for cheap flight ticket. We reached Krabi airport nearly 1.30pm local time. The first day, we stayed at Amandari hotel which located at Ao Nang town. It is an easy 15 minutes walk to the beach and to shopping area in Aonang centre.

It is sound a bit funny having Mcd as our lunch. We tried the Samurai Pork Burger...hehe....MUST TRY.

Dell Inspiron 600m DIY Clean Up

Today, sitting at home, do nothing. Then thinking something to do which is disassemble the laptop for clean up. This post will show you how to open step by step.

Why need doing the clean up? the reason is simple because the heatsink and the fan is get stuck by dust. Thus, the air ventilation is low and cause the CPU is hot and performance is drop.

After remove the dust, I put the new CPU thermal compound on top of the CPU so that have a better heat transfer from CPU to heatsink. however, it is a entry level of thermal compound. It is not the good one.

Tools: Phillips & Flat srewdriver.

Step 1: Use flat screwdriver to open from the notch.

Step 2: Dismantle the cover from the body. Caution, be careful the plastic and there are no screws between the cover and the body.

Step 3: Remove 2 screws to take out the keyboard.

Step 4 : Remove the 4 screws to take off the heatsink. You can see a lot dust at the fan and the heatsink.

Put some compound on top of the CPU.

槟城極樂寺(CNY)

Last year I missed for visit to Penang Kek Lok Si Temple（槟城极乐寺） during CNY. This year 2010, I decided to go there before 初十五. Because it was decorated with a lot tang lung. It gave me good experience for shooting night scene. If you are really want to go, please go abit early to avoid the jam and easy to get car park. About 10pm, I make a move to go home. All the way, I saw a lot cars still Q-up(jam) to Kek Lok Si.

Sonic Gear A6 Modify

Last week, I just bought the better quality of the capacitor to modiy my Sonic Gear A6. I bought Nippon Chemi-con KMH 400V 390uF, Nichicon Gold Tune 71V 10,000uF, SONY 71V 10,000uF, Rubycon USG 450V 330uF.

I just swap the 35V 4700uF cap to Nichicon Gold Tune, but you might wonder how to fit in...I connected with the copper wire and solder at PCB. I know it may degrade the quality if connected in this way, but it is no choice, the capacitor is too big.

After changing the Nichicon, then I made change the capacitor which near to the vacuum tube. Actually I wanted to change the Nippon Chemi-con since I get it early than Rubycon. But, I just worry it will explode if I replace with lower voltage compare with original rating. Then I just buy another Rubycon USG 450V 330uF, which is same voltage rating but higher capacity.

When I de-soldered the original capacitor, I notice that only one side is fit when I insert the Rubycon capacitor, the another one need solder with copper wire. I guess if you replace with same capacitor value, it should be fine to replace it. No need connect extra copper wire. The dimesion of the hole is the same.

After some how, I tried to open the speaker box. This time I manage to open it. First, you have to remove the net...then you will see there are some screws there. After removed the screw, you can take out the plastic. But be careful because the plastic migth crack easily.

Once the plastic is removed, you can see the speaker already. There is one crossover inside the speaker box. It is for filter the audio signal to high frequency and low frequency. You can see there are some component such as coil, capacitor and resistor.

Next upgrade is to change the crossover's capacitor. Anyone can share with me what type of capacitor to replace it?

Penang King of Cruller 槟城特長油條王

Last Saturday, we went to Paya Terubong to find the 特長油條, which we never tried before. After google-ing the location, we kick off our quest to find the cruller king.

It tooks us about 20 mins to reach our destination. Coming from Relau -> Paya Terubong, the stall situated just on the roadside on our left. Just a stone throw away from the Bomba. It was just next to the Lau Fu Zhi Bak Kut Teh. There are few favours and we ordered Cruller with Tuna Mayonnaise and Cruller with Sausage+Mayonnaise.

槟城蛇庙 Penang Snake Temple

The next station, I went to Penag Snake Temple (槟城蛇庙). The temple is located at Sungai Kluang, Bayan Lepas, Penang. The temple was built circa 1850 in memory of Chor Soo Kong, by a Buddist monk who moved to Penang. This is my first time shooting with my gear and hope can imporve my skill. Celebrating someone birthday at The View Restaurant. We took their semi buffer. We ordered their famous Cod fish, Salmon fish as our main course. Before the main course is served, we enjoy appetizer which have garlic bread, salad, soup.

We went to Sentosa island by the monorail. When exit from the station, you can see there is giant Merlion. We spend a whole day here until end of the Song of the Sea shows.

Our package is 4D Magix, Segway, Images Of Singapore and Sky Tower. But we did add-on Songs of the Sea ticket.

We visited to Chinatown night market in morning. We stopped by at Chinatown MRT station and explore to the street. Actually we wanted to have our breakfast there. But, we noticed that a lot shops still not yet open especially hawker food.

Henderson Waves Bridge 亨德森波浪桥

We gathered at VIVO city, then we took bus to Henderson Waves Bridge. About 15 mins journey, finally we reached the destination. You can see the bridge when get down from bus..

Before reach on top of the bridge, you need to climb up with staircase. It is pretty tired, but it is worth it.

After 10mins, finally we reached on top of the bridge...YEAH...!!!

Last Sunday(Hari Raya), we went to Singapore Jurong Bird Park with my UTAR friends. This is my first time take photo at the world's largest bird paradise with over 8000 birds,600 species.

Open Daily from 8.30am to 6pm.

Conclusion, I feel that my kit lens not enough power to capture those birds which from far. Shooting for animal, you must zoom and focus very fast so that you would miss out the every single moment.

*Prepare more water because the weather is hot....!!!

15 August 2009- Attended my younger brother's convocation at Universiti Malaya....finally graduated. We stayed at Crystal Crown Hotel and the next day morning we reached to Dewan Tunku Canselor before 8am.

About 1pm, we had our lunch at Sango Japanese Restaurant....hmm..yummy yummy...thanks brother....hahaha...

So decide go for 574 which is cheaper and comfortable.

Day 2- 1/2 day Macau, 1/2 day HK....it's already very bright at 5am! Make me doubt if my HP clock was slow....Hahaha...Starting the day with non other than a great breakfast.

The only row that has some breakfast shop....n it's like hidden behind the main street! luckily got a nice uncle bring us there!

AT LAST! found the famous Margaret Cafe which served excellent portugese egg tart!

They can let you customize your bread! what fillings, what type of bread... Served hot~~yummy!

Rushing back to hotel to grab our bag to head to ferry terminal using hotel's free bus service. Available every 1/2 hour. Planned to take Turbojets as it's HK terminal is located just above Sheung Wan MTR station. Manage to get the next available ferry...luckily... be sure "check in" earlier...as it was some distance from the ticket counter to the boarding gate & some queue in getting ur passport chop @ immigration counters...OMG...the officer is sooo rude... dun like them..even at HK side...no respect for tourist at all!

This is our 1st trip to so far....We booked the Air-asia ticket since last year...finnally it has come truth..8 July 2009 to 14 July 2009. On the 1st day, we reached Macau and stay one nite there. Btw, many Macauians only know cantonese...so when u wanna ask how to go to this hotel, u better find out what's d hotel's name in cantonese.
